- How can you possibly know what people want to get out of life? There is absolutely nothing wrong with having just one if thats what you want. But you have no knowledge as to how 5 children could fit into some middle-class mother's life.

- Proud Mama, i agree with you about the 'experts' attitudes during the piece. They seemed so reluctant to admit that many many women(and their spouses) just want more children for good reasons.

- The suggestiong that the trend to have more babies is simply due to an addiction insulting to most families well thought out choices!

- I just saw the piece on the today show and it was awfully negative. I totally disagree that it is as common as the experts portray it is for women to want more children to try to fill some empty feeling or lack of attention.
